What hiring our Allen moving company includes
Champion Moving does the move itself, from our base on S Watters Rd in Allen. Whether it is a house, an apartment, an office or a single desk, the same things come with every job.
A free estimate, then a written proposal
Every move starts with a free estimate. Before anything goes on the truck, you get a written proposal that says whether it is binding or not-to-exceed and shows the maximum price, along with the TxDMV brochure “Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move in Texas”.
That maximum is the point of it. Most people have heard of a quote that turned into a much bigger bill on move day. With the maximum in writing before loading, you know the most the move can cost, and paying it releases your goods. Add items before loading and the estimate is redone, in writing.
Floors covered and furniture wrapped on every move
On every move, runners go down along the path the crew carries furniture, and large pieces are wrapped in moving blankets or plastic wrap before they leave the room.
Customers notice it. Margo M. wrote that the crew “packed and covered the floor to protect it” (2 weeks ago), and Sharla H. said “everything was wrapped with blankets or cellophane” (4 years ago). Jacqueline C. described a crew that “packed, wrapped and got all of my large furniture out all while protecting my floors and walls” (3 years ago).
Our own crew from loading to unloading
Our own crew loads the truck, drives it and unloads it. No subcontractors, and no hand-off to a crew you have never met. Champion Moving is the carrier that does your move, not a broker that sells the job on.
Dominic N. said the team “made sure everything was loaded, transported, and unloaded properly” and that “Daniel and his team HUSTLED from start to finish!” (4 days ago). Daniel is the owner, and some families come back: Bill B. wrote that “Daniel and his team have relocated our family twice” (a year ago).
Beds rebuilt and furniture placed room by room
Beds and other large pieces come apart at the old place and go back together at the new one. The crew sets each piece in the room you choose, so the bed is back together for the first night.
Jacqueline C. wrote that the crew packed with boxes they supplied, put her furniture back in the rooms she picked, built the beds and hung items (3 years ago). More on furniture disassembly and assembly.
Houses, apartments, offices and single pieces
Most of our jobs are houses and apartments, and stairs are part of the work. Amber H. moved “from a 4th floor, 3BR apartment and the guys were quick and efficient”, and Rickey C. went from a second floor to a third. Small jobs count too: Jason P. “had a small move”, and Sara V. had us deliver a desk she bought at an antique mall.
Kim S. had fragile cardio equipment moved for a fitness center, Anthony P. had a hot tub moved to the patio, and realtors such as Jennifer M. send us their clients. See apartment and home moves and office moves.
Short-notice moves and the morning another mover cancels
Same-day and last-minute moves are one of our services. Customers have called us when other movers bailed and when they needed movers the very same day, and two of those reviews are below.
We are open 24 hours, so you can call (214) 407-2684 at any hour. Whether a crew is free on a given day depends on the schedule, so call as early as you can and tell us what is moving. Details on same-day moves.
What sets the price of an Allen move
Your free estimate is built from these factors, so tell us about each one when you call.
| Factor | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| How much is moving | More furniture and boxes take more crew time and truck space |
| Access at each end | Stairs, elevators and the walk from the door to where the truck can stand |
| Crew size | Bigger homes and heavy pieces can need more people |
| Travel and truck time | The drive between the two addresses and the time the truck is booked |
| Packing materials | Boxes, tape and wrap, if we pack for you |
| Day of the week | The date you choose can change the price |
| Items added before loading | The estimate is redone in writing before loading |
Your final price is the maximum in your written proposal. Get a free estimate.
How long a move day runs in Allen
The length of a move day comes down to the same things: how much is going, the access at each end and the size of the crew.
Allen adds a hard stop. Under Allen Code §9-227, a commercial moving truck can stand on a public street only while it is loading or unloading, and not at all from 30 minutes after sunset to 30 minutes before sunrise. A move that runs late can’t keep the truck on the street after dusk, so bigger moves are planned to start early in the day. Allen move-day rules.

What Texas requires your mover to put in writing
Worried the final bill will outgrow the quote, or that a crew won’t unload until you pay more? Before loading, your written proposal has to state the most you can be charged. Pay that maximum and your goods must be released.
Free estimates. Ask for your written proposal before move day.

| What you hear | What the rule says |
|---|---|
| 60 cents a pound is standard | In Texas, coverage is what you agree to in writing |
| Movers must be bonded | Texas requires bonds from brokers, not movers |
| Your quote is your price, no matter what | Your written proposal states the most you can be charged |
| They won’t unload until you pay more | Pay the maximum on your proposal and your goods are released |

Allen move-day rules
Three city rules shape a move inside Allen: when the truck can stand on your street, the free moving-box pickup, and the Saturday bulk pickup. We plan the load around them.
Call (214) 407-2684 with your street and the date, and we set the start time by the daylight left.
HOA rules vary by community, so check yours before move day.
| Rule | What it means on move day |
|---|---|
| Truck on the street | A commercial truck, or one with more than two axles, can stand on a public street only while it is being loaded or unloaded. From 30 minutes after sunset to 30 minutes before sunrise it can’t stand there at all, even to load. |
| Truck on a residential lot | Commercial vehicles stay off residential lots except while loading or unloading, so a moving truck can’t park overnight in a driveway. |
| Free moving-box pickup | Allen collects flattened moving boxes once, on a Saturday. Call 214.509.4551 by noon the day before. |
| Saturday bulk pickup | Your trash day sets the Saturday: Monday is the 1st, Tuesday the 2nd, Wednesday or Thursday the 3rd, Friday the 4th. Items out by 7am, each under 150 lb. Fridges and AC units need a refrigerant-free tag. |
